Directory Submission Guidelines

You should read the submission guidelines of the directory itself where you going to submit your site. Here are some most common points to increase your approval rate –

• You should specify company name or official name of the site in title as most major directories prefer it. However you can include your single best keyword that describes your site in title with your company name.

• Do not use ALLCAPS either in your title or description.

• Do not use any special character except ‘–’ in Title.

• Do not submit mirror/under construction sites.

• Submit the URL in the correct format. Most directories accept a URL in the format of http://www.yoursite.com.

• Do not submit URL that redirect to another site.

• 1st preference, Only submit your home page URL and not a URL pointing to one of your inner pages. Example: http://www.yoursite.com/services.html.

• Next step you also submit inner pages where accept inner pages.

• Descriptions should be between 150 to 200 character [including space]

• Descriptions should be written in third person voice.

• Do not mention any pricing details or any other promotional details that are subject to change with time. Again, a description should ideally just describe what the site actually contains.

• Try to select the single best appropriate category for your site. For example – if you offer free Bongo only to UK residents you should submit it in some regional category rather than generic category.
